NHS Trust managers who need to update their existing major incident plans to incorporate the latest thinking on managing a major incident or business continuity issue are invited to contact Major Incident Plan.

A CD is available which will allow a trust to quickly upgrade their existing plans either by using some sections of the generic plan to update their own plans or migrating to the generic plan, adding those local sections which may be specific to the locality. If you have an enthusiastic Emergency Planning Liaison Officer, he/she could adapt the generic plan to a specific plan for your trust within a few days

The generic plan available was commissioned by the Department of Health and is now available for trusts throughout the UK at very reasonable rates.
